Frequently asked questions.

I’m not very flexible. Can I still do yoga?

Yoga helps us increase our flexibility, even if our flexibility is initially limited. Yoga also helps cultivate strength as well. In fact, yoga is an ideal form of exercise because it helps us balance our flexibility and strength so that we become more stable and more free, both.

What happens when I first come to take a class?

When you arrive for a class, there are hooks for your coat and shoe racks for your shoes. There are cubbies for your personal items. We have yoga mats for you to use if you don’t have one or didn’t bring yours. Typically, yoga is done with bare feet, so you are encouraged to leave your socks and shoes in the designated areas.

Are there certain things to know about yoga etiquette?

Yes. It is courteous to have a clean body and clean clothes. We encourage people to avoid colognes, perfumes, or other strong smelling scents. Because we are breathing deeply, scents can be agitating for sensitive systems. Also, we make sure to turn our phones off or silent, so as not to disturb the peace of the class.

Do you charge to use your yoga mats and props?

No, the mats and props are free to use when you are in the studio. We do have a way to clean the mats after you are finished with them, and we appreciate your spraying and wiping down the mat after your use. There are hanging rods to hold the mats after they’re sprayed so we don’t have to roll them up while they’re damp.

How early should I come before class?

It’s a great idea to come a few minutes early before the start of class to get yourself set up. If you haven’t yet met the teacher, you can use that time to introduce yourself. The studio will be open 15 minutes before class starts.

How do I choose the right class for me?

Most people choose a class based on what works for their schedule. We encourage you to read about the teachers and the description of the classes and see what you are drawn to. All the classes are open to students regardless of how experienced they are in yoga. If you would like some suggestions about the best fit for you, email us and we’ll be happen to help you find the optimal class for you!

I registered for a class, but I’m not feeling well. What should I do?

In this time of cold, flu, and covid, it’s important to take care of yourself and also to be protective of those in the class. We do have an air filter going in the studio, and we spray each mat after use, but if you’re not feeling well, it’s best to take care of yourself and rest at home. If you registered and don’t show up, we’ll just cancel your registration, and your pass will be available in your account for a future class. And feel free to email us and let us know you’re not coming. We’ll send some well wishes for a speedy recovery your way!

How do you as a studio walk your talk?

We believe that the principles of yoga don’t end after the class. So, as a studio, we are committed to the environment. We use recycled TP and hand towels, our mat spray is organic and we use washcloths to wipe them down, which we then clean with natural soap. We use healthy and environmental friendly cleaning products and soap. We have a bike rack for those who can bike to the studio. And we give back to various community organizations. Yoga is for all bodies and all people, and our classes and staff are dedicated to reflecting and supporting that.
